Summary
A modified triangulation technique for arthroscopy ofthe canine shoulder joint to insert a working cannula inthe caudal joint pouch is described. This technique iscompared with the triangulation technique of Van Rys-sen(10). With the modified triangulation the insertionangle for the working cannula into the caudal jointpouch was provided by a target device which was at-tachedto the arthroscopic sleeve. Both methods werecarried out on 60 dog cadavers and the differenceswere recorded in terms of various parameters: success(SUC), time (TI), number of trials (TR), position of theworking cannula (POS), damage to articular cartilage(DAM), and force to remove the working cannula(FOR). The modified triangulation technique permitssimpler, faster and less traumatic insertion of the work-ingcannula into the caudal joint pouch. Keywords
