All manuscripts accepted for publication will be published online as soon as they have been reviewed, copyedited and typeset. However, this often takes place prior to final proofreading by the author(s).
PrePrint Online papers will be searchable in Medline and citable by their assigned Digital Object Identifier (DOI). DOI and publication date will be included in the published PDF as well as in the accompanying abstract and Medline search results.
When citing a pre-published paper that has not yet appeared in a printed issue, we suggest following this example:
Harboe K, Enoksen CH, Gjerdet NR, et al. Development of a femoral stem providing strong anchorage and facilitated removal. An experimental study in goats. Vet Comp Orthop Traumatol. Pre-published online January 27, 2012; doi:10.3415/VCOT-11-02-0032.
All PrePrint Online papers are subsequently proofread by the author(s), and are then published in their final form in the print and online versions of their respective journals at the time of print publication. Final papers retain the DOI of the pre-published version. Papers are stored in a permanent archive which is accessible on the Internet.

We recommend that readers check the appropriate medical literature and current product information provided by the manufacturer of each drug to be administered. Dosages, method(s) and duration of administration need to be verified, as well as possible contraindications. It is the sole responsibility of the physician or other healthcare professional to independently determine drug dosages and appropriate treatment based on her/his experience and knowledge of the patient. PrePrint Online papers have undergone the usual process of full scientific review, copyediting and typesetting. However, they are published prior to final proofreading by the author(s). This means that there may be errors in PrePrint Online papers, which will have been corrected in the final print and online versions. Use of PrePrint Online papers implies understanding that the full quality control process has not been completed at the time of publication.
