Jan Haaf is appointed to the Executive Board of Schattauer Publishers

Stuttgart, December 27, 2011: As of January 1, 2012 Jan Haaf (46) is appointed to the Executive Board of Schattauer Publishers for Medicine and Natural Sciences. Thus, starting in 2012 a trio of CEOs will be in charge of this Stuttgart-based publishing house with a long tradition.

Starting with the new year, the Executive Board of Schattauer Publishers will be chaired by Dieter Bergemann (Publisher and CEO), Dr. med. Dipl.-Psych. Wulf Bertram (CEO with focus on program planning and quality assurance) and Jan Haaf (new media and CEO of the Psychiatrie-Verlag, Bonn).

Jan Haaf graduated with a degree in engineering from the Stuttgart Media University in 1991. This was followed by several years in the product management and marketing of an international graphics design company. Beginning in 1995, he has held various responsible positions with specialist publishers and has been working for Schattauer Publishers since 2008.


Schattauer Publishers for Medicine and Natural Sciences (founded in 1949), Stuttgart, is a company with a long tradition that is still run by its owner and has 60 employees. The main pillars of the publishing house are its renowned textbook program (e.g. world-wide recognition of the “Color Atlas of Anatomy. A Photographic Study of the Human Body “, which has already been published in 20 languages), 20 national and international scientific journals (the neuroscience journal ″Nervenheilkunde“ has the highest circulation) as well as the congress organisation SKS which offers continuing education for both doctors and veterinarians. The Psychiatrie-Verlag Bonn is affiliated with Schattauer Publishers.
