New 2010 Impact Factors for the Schattauer journals
On June 28th, the new Impact Factors were released, and Schattauer is pleased with the results for our journals: three titles have experienced a significant increase, and the first Impact Factor for the journal
Hämostaseologie was given.

The Impact Factor measures the rate at which an article from a journal is cited in other journals within a set time-period. A higher rate of citations will also result in a higher Impact Factor. Each year, the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), which is based in Philadelphia, USA, releases the Impact Factor for all listed scientific journals.
The Impact Factor of a journal is calculated by using the (worldwide, as determined by ISI) citations in 2010 of articles that were published by a journal during 2008 and 2009, divided by the total number of articles published by that journal during 2008 and 2009.
Thrombosis and Haemostasis had an increase in their 2009 value of 4.451 to a value of 4.701 for 2010. “We are very pleased with the continuing upward trend of our renowned international journal” stated Dr. Andrea Schürg, Director of Journals.
VCOT managed for the first time to jump over the 1.0 value and has improved from 0.931 to 1.064.
Osteologie also experienced an increase from 0.157 to 0.186 in the second year of their listing.
As a new entrance,
Hämostaseologie received a positive value of 0.780.
The new values for all other journals are as follows:
Nuklearmedizin: 1,752
Methods of Information in Medicine: 1,472
Phlebologie: 0,733
Nervenheilkunde: 0,360
Tierärztliche Praxis: 0,249
