The internationally renowned journal "Thrombosis and Haemostasis" of Schattauer Publishers has again climbed to an Impact Factor above 5. With an Impact Factor 2015 of 5.255 it is once again in the Top 10 of journals in the category "Peripheral Vascular Disease".
Besides the Editorial Board and the Publishers, also the affiliated international "Gesellschaft für Thrombose- und Hämostaseforschung" sent its congratulations. Their general secretary Prof. Dr. Andreas Tiede wrote: "On behalf of the council of the German, Austrian, and Swiss Society on Thrombosis & Haemostasis (GTH) that has been partnering with the journal since 2015, I would like to add my congratulations and express our heartfelt admiration of the editors’ and all board members’ hard and successful work. We are very proud to be part of this journal!"
Also Schattauer’s second journal affiliated with the GTH, "Hämostaseologie" stabilised its Impact Factor of 1.547 at a good level, followed by the official organ of the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nuklearmedizin" (DGN), the journal "Nuklearmedizin / Nuclear Medicine" with an IF 2015 of 1.356.
While the internationally renowned veterinary journal "Veterinary and Comparative Orthopaedics and Traumtology" also had a very satisfactory IF 2015 of 0.853, the journal "Tierärztliche Praxis" unfortunately has to deal with a decreased IF of 0.305.
"German-language science journals are struggling more and more to compete with the international competition of mostly English-language journals – at least when measured by the Impact Factor", says Dr. Andrea Schürg, Manager of Journals. However, especially German-language journals fulfill a valuable "transmitter function" from science into practice of the practicing doctor or veterinarian and should therefore not be measured solely by the - highly debated - Impact Factor.
