Starting immediately, Schattauer will offer its journal authors the possibility to make their articles accessible to all users immediately after publication in print or online. The accepted manuscript will receive a DOI number after copy-editing and typesetting and will be published freely accessible on the journal internet homepage (“Open Access“). In parallel, the article metadata will be reported to databases such as Medline/PubMed and the article will be linked to those databases. From this point onwards the full-text article will be freely accessible to all readers world-wide.
In order not to compromise the subscription model of our journals, the significant resulting effort per manuscript and the future permanent archiving by the publisher must be financed via a fee (“Article Processing Charge“, APC), which will be charged to the author. This fee will be 1,630,- € per article (2,450,- USD for USA) for all Schattauer journals. Journal reviewers receive a 40% discount. Interested authors may contact the respective journal editors.
The German Copyright law applies to usage of the articles.
The new model does not affect the
Copyright Policy of Schattauer Publishers which allows authors to post the copy-edited and typeset version of the article after an embargo period of a minimum of 12 months on their own website or an institutional repository. The accepted but not yet copy-edited and typeset manuscript version may be posted online before the end of the embargo period. In both cases, manuscripts must include a reference and link to the original publication in the Schattauer journal.
