This is the second volume of a color atlas presenting a comprehensive summary of the histopathology and cytopathology of preneoplastic and neoplastic lesions in laboratory rodents. Whereas the first volume covered lesions of the mammary gland, liver, pancreas, kidney, urinary bladder, central nervous system, bone, hematopoietic and lymphatic system, this second volume contains chapters on skin, salivary gland, lung, esophagus, stomach, intestines, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, adrenal gland, male and female genital tract, and soft tissue tumors.

Each chapter is introduced by a short and concise text explaining the principle and standards of the classification of preneoplasia and neoplasia in the rodent tissues described. Examples of lesions are presented by a large number of excellent microscopic color pictures providing a sound basis for correct diagnosis, which is crucial for the evaluation of many animal experiments including carcinogenesis bioassays.

The atlas is primarly directed to pathologists, particularly to those working in the experimental field, but it is also of interest to toxicologists and biologists working on rodent models in cancer research or development biology.
